Paige Playing

Last week was a bit of a rough one for Paige. She came down with a fever on Saturday the 13th and it didn't break until last Thursday. The only thing that seemed to help was lots and lots of Motrin. The doctor gave her a clean bill of health otherwise so it must have been a virus. Anyway, we spent quite a bit of time in the house just trying to keep her entertained and ourselves from going stir crazy. Here are some photos from the week. www.hamfamilyphoto.shutterfly.com

This one cracks me up. Paige obviously isn't feeling well but Drew is trying his hardest to get a smile out of her.

Paige loves looking out the window in the living room. She feels like such a "big girl."

One of my favorite photos. She was so tired that she just fell asleep in my arms. No rocking, no singing, just drifted off. This NEVER happens so despite my arm falling asleep and a big crick in my neck, I wanted to stay there FOREVER.

Feeling much better by the end of the week.

Lake Keowee

Our friends, the Bailey's, invited us to their family lake house for a weekend getaway. We had a great time and Paige loved swimming. Quite the change from our trip to Kiawah Island! She also enjoyed playing with her friends, Addie, McKenzie, and Ella. Here are some photos from the trip.

8 Months Old!

Paige turned eight months old on June 3rd. It was a pretty uneventful day but we did take a few photos.

Although she's still just under 15lbs (at this rate poor Paige will be in a carseat until college), Paige is loving her food. She eats anything we put in front of her. Hope it's a good sign that she won't be a picky eater!

Paige is also making strides toward crawling. Even though she hasn't quite figured it out yet, she gets around pretty well by stretching, turning, rolling, etc. Drew and I came to the realization that our lives will change dramatically once she does finally crawl. Baby gates, outlet covers, cabinet locks, here we come!

Grandma & Grandpa's Visit

Grandma and Grandpa came to Charlotte for a visit a couple weeks ago and we had a great time. While they were here we celebrated Grandma's birthday, went to the park, shopping, and visited the Whitewater Rafting Center. Drew and I enjoyed a relaxing dinner by ourselves, the first in months! Thanks Mom and Dad! Most importantly, Paige spent a wonderful few days with her grandparents. She really loved all of the attention and was quite the little "ham", talking and smiling constantly. It was so sad to see them leave but we're looking forward to visiting them in July!

Paige also had a few firsts while they were here. She sat in a highchair at a restaurant for the first time and did great. She loved being part of the conversation. I even ventured out to actually feed her baby food while in public. No removal of her clothes necessary! We began giving Paige water in a sippy cup. At first she just chewed on the spout and the water came spewing back out but she's starting to get the hang of it now. She also went down the slide for the first time. I think she liked feeling like a big girl and definitely loved watching all of the kids at the playground. Not too much longer before she can play too!
