Paige's First Christmas Pageant

Paige's Tiny Tots class put on their very first Christmas pageant the week before Christmas this year.  They were "performing" the story of Jesus' birth and Paige was selected to be one of the angels.  She made the most beautiful angel, I must say.  They practiced their parts and several songs as well.  Paige did wonderfully and was so proud of herself.  Of course, Mommy and Daddy were proud too!

After their performance, the class celebrated with birthday cake for Baby Jesus and exchanged gifts with one another.  Paige received a Play-doh kit from her friend, Bentley and also a personalized book back from her teacher, Ms. Linda.  They finished off the party with a pinata full of candy and trinkets.  She had an absolute blast and we enjoyed spending the morning with her!

Margo is ONE!!

This is a bittersweet post for me about somewhat of a bittersweet day.  My baby is ONE!  Seriously, when did this year pass me by?!  Of course, I'm so proud of my sweet girl.  She has been absolutely the best baby EVER!  Maybe that's why this past year went by so quickly.  I just can't help but be a little sad knowing that she's no longer a baby and I won't have that "baby" experience again.  I just hope I squeezed in enough sweet baby smell and cuddles!

Margo is just so much fun to be around.  She's crawling (quickly!) everywhere and pulling herself up but hasn't started walking yet.  It definitely doesn't stop her from getting around and into everything!  She's a good eater but messy!  For some reason, she insists on rubbing her food into her hair at about every meal.  We often have to wash her hair at the kitchen sink.

Margo is also really starting to play and enjoy her time with her big sister.  Paige is a little mother to Margo and a helpful set of eyes when Margo is getting into trouble.  Both girls love laughing and giggling with each other and it just melts my heart!

At one year, Margo weighs 20lbs 1oz (25%) and 28" long (10%).  For comparison, Paige weighed 17lbs 7oz (2%) but for some reason, I don't have her length written down.  Margo is sporting six teeth (Paige didn't get her first until 13 months).

At this point (it's now two months later), Margo was having a constant battle with ear infections and happened to have one on her birthday.  So, we celebrated only slightly on the actual day by opening some of her presents and continued the celebration the next day once her antibiotics had kicked in and she was feeling better.  As you'll see from the pictures below, she really got into the cake.  She started rubbing it between her hands and then proceeded to play peek-a-boo.  What a mess!

We've loved every minute of this past year as our family of four (plus Rosie, of course) and can't wait to see what Margo has in store for us next.

Princess for a Day

Paige is without a doubt very into princesses and anything girly so you can imagine her excitement when she received an invitation to her friend, Ellie's princess birthday party in early December.  Paige and Ellie have been friends since they were babies in NC and it's been fun for them to be able to continue their friendship in AR too.  So, not only was this party a chance for her to dress up in full princess garb, it was scheduled to have a special guest, Cinderella herself!  That day, Paige opted to wear her Ariel dress over her Cinderella costume, which surprised us.  She selected gold shoes, a pearl necklace, and Ariel sticker earrings to complete the look.  She was beautiful!

The party was great and Cinderella was a big hit.  She was in full character the entire time while the girls asked her about the castle, Prince Charming, and her stepsisters.  They all took turns dancing with Cinderella before they settled in to listen to the story of Cinderella told by the princess herself.  Paige was in heaven!

Here are some pictures from the party.  http://thehamfamily.zenfolio.com/p788551137

All dressed up for the party.

Paige was a little shy and didn't want to dance with Cinderella at first.  She changed her mind and loved it!

Splish, Splash, I Was Taking A Bath

I'm not sure why it took us so long, but we finally bathed Paige and Margo at the same time in December.  Paige has been into taking showers vs. baths and Margo was awfully slippery swimming around in the tub so it was easier to just do each on their own.  One evening we decided to throw them in together and they loved it!  Margo especially enjoyed having her big sis to play with.
