Margo is 10 Months Old!

Well, I now understand why my baby book is only slightly completed.  I was the youngest child.  Poor Margo is going to experience the same fate.  She's almost 11 1/2 months old and I'm just now writing about her 10 month birthday.  Am I ever going to be able to stay on top of it all?!

Unfortunately Margo has had a bit of a rough go lately with an ear infection that just wouldn't go away.  Still, she is just as happy as can be.  I know I say this every month, but she is an incredible baby.  She wasn't so happy, however, when I turned my back for a split second while taking these pictures and she fell out of the chair.  That's right, Mom of the Year here.  Glad we sprung for that extra padding under the carpet.

At 10 months, Margo was army crawling all over the place.  Still trying to pull up but hadn't quite mastered getting her feet in the right place.  She had four teeth and uses them to try all kinds of table foods.  She's slightly pickier than her sister was at this age but I don't think she's wasting away anytime soon.  As of October 5th, she weighed 18lbs, 6oz.

Yes, she really is this happy all the time.

Can't believe how big she's getting!

Paige is Four!

My baby is four!  How did this even happen?!  As a stay at home mom, I'm blessed enough to be around for most of my girls' moments.  However, there are definitely some days that I find myself counting down the minutes to naptime or bedtime, just for a break.  It's occasions like their birthdays that make me realize how quickly the minutes, days, years, pass.  I found the quote below on Pinterest and loved how relevant it really is.  I need to keep this in mind as I'm answering the question, "Why?" for the millionth time or wiping a nose that seems to be filled with endless amounts of snot.  It may not always be glamorous but it'll be gone before I know it!

Ok, and now back to Paige's birthday.  As I mentioned in the previous post, we celebrated with a party at the Little Gym the weekend before her actual birthday but the parties didn't stop there for this birthday girl.  Her Tiny Tots preschool class helped her celebrate with cupcakes and treats the day before her birthday and since she was at Mother's Day Out on the big day, we brought Krispy Kreme donuts for her class.  Once Drew got home from work, we headed to Chuck E Cheese for a quick round of games and pizza before heading back home to open gifts.  She was so exhausted by the end of the day, she didn't even want to eat her birthday cupcake.  Four "parties" for the four year old!

Here's what Paige is up to now...

  • Weighs 32lbs (25th percentile)
  • Measures 39" (30th percentile)
  • Still naps in the afternoon for at least a couple hours but still stinks at sleeping at night.
  • Attends preschool two days a week and Mother's Day Out one day a week.
  • Recognizes the letters of the alphabet and is very interested in how words are spelled.
  • Enjoys drawing, coloring, and writing her name.
  • Loves to read books (especially when she should be sleeping at night) and remembers EVERYTHING in those books.
  • Obsessed with anything princess related; books, dress up, movies, etc.
  • Still is a Daddy's girl and loves her role as big sis.
  • Turned four and started calling us 'Mom' and 'Dad' instead of 'Mama' and Dadda'.
  • Extremely social and friendly, especially at school.  Multiple teachers comment on what a great friend she is to the other kids.
  • Sweet, smart, and such a special little girl.  We are so proud!

Paige got to wear her birthday outfit again for her party at school.

Paige's 4th Birthday Party

It is so very hard for me to believe that Paige turned four (!) on October 3rd.  Since her birthday fell on a Wednesday this year, we celebrated with a party at the Little Gym the weekend prior.  She'd been asking for both a princess party and a party at the Little Gym so we combined them into one.  It was the first time we've had a birthday party outside of the house and it was definitely a nice change of pace.  No major cleaning/cooking/decorating beforehand and I could actually just enjoy the party!

Drew's parents, two sisters, and Lucy and Oliver came down for the weekend and the party.  Paige loved having them here to celebrate with her and she had a blast at the party with her friends.  As we were getting in the car to leave for home, she said, "That was the best birthday party ever!"  Well worth any expense!

Here are some photos from the weekend and the party itself.  Sorry there are so many in this post.  There are lots more on the zenfolio site,  Paige's 4th Birthday  More on her birthday in a separate post.

Margo is 9 Months Old!

Margo turned nine months old on September 13th.  She's doing well, and is now army crawling all over the house.  Poor thing cleans the floors with her little belly.  Margo has also been trying to pull up on things but can't quite figure out how to get her feet under her.  I think it'll come soon!

The doctor said she looks great and is very pleased with her growth.  She was 17lbs 8oz (30th percentile) and 26" (10th percentile).  Paige at this age was 16 lbs 4oz but was also 26".

Within this last month, I also stopped breastfeeding Margo.  Unfortunately, I was having trouble keeping up with the amount she needed and once I started supplementing, it only got worse.  I definitely miss the cuddle time with her since she's always on the move now.  It's especially hard seeing these milestones come and go, knowing that our family is complete and we won't get to experience these stages again.  I wish I could freeze time and keep her at this age forever (ok, at least for a while)!

 Such a happy, happy girl!

She's such a little "ham".  We point the camera at her and she automatically smiles as big as she can!

Here's Paige at 9 months.  I think they definitely look alike but have their own features too.

Margo is enjoying trying new finger foods.  Here's the result after bananas.

And after avocados.

Think someone's teething?  Three teeth are in!

 She loves to wave!

One morning, Paige and Margo were playing behind the chair in the living room.

 Playing peekaboo to be exact.

Margo LOVED it!  And I love seeing them play together.
