Princess for a Day

Paige is without a doubt very into princesses and anything girly so you can imagine her excitement when she received an invitation to her friend, Ellie's princess birthday party in early December.  Paige and Ellie have been friends since they were babies in NC and it's been fun for them to be able to continue their friendship in AR too.  So, not only was this party a chance for her to dress up in full princess garb, it was scheduled to have a special guest, Cinderella herself!  That day, Paige opted to wear her Ariel dress over her Cinderella costume, which surprised us.  She selected gold shoes, a pearl necklace, and Ariel sticker earrings to complete the look.  She was beautiful!

The party was great and Cinderella was a big hit.  She was in full character the entire time while the girls asked her about the castle, Prince Charming, and her stepsisters.  They all took turns dancing with Cinderella before they settled in to listen to the story of Cinderella told by the princess herself.  Paige was in heaven!

Here are some pictures from the party.  http://thehamfamily.zenfolio.com/p788551137

All dressed up for the party.

Paige was a little shy and didn't want to dance with Cinderella at first.  She changed her mind and loved it!

Splish, Splash, I Was Taking A Bath

I'm not sure why it took us so long, but we finally bathed Paige and Margo at the same time in December.  Paige has been into taking showers vs. baths and Margo was awfully slippery swimming around in the tub so it was easier to just do each on their own.  One evening we decided to throw them in together and they loved it!  Margo especially enjoyed having her big sis to play with.

Thanksgiving 2012

This past Thanksgiving was spent in St. Louis with Drew's family.  We celebrated with a delicious dinner at the Maxey's.  Margo spent most of her first Thanksgiving napping but once she did wake up, she enjoyed the feast as well.

We spent the rest of the long weekend doing a little Christmas shopping and getting a jump on Christmas activities (enjoying the Botanical Garden train exhibit and enjoying the lights at the zoo).  Pictures from these events can be found with our other Christmas photos.

Paige's Thanksgiving Pow-Wow

Paige's preschool class spent the month of November learning about the pilgrims, Indians, and the first Thanksgiving.  The week of Thanksgiving, they had a pow-wow to put all their new learning to use.  They made their own outfits, drums, and beads and celebrated with a "traditional" dance at the pow-wow.  Here are photos from the event.  You can find a video on the zenfolio site.  Paige's Pow-Wow

Margo is 11 Months Old

Margo turned 11 months old on November 13th.  Within this month she:

  • Weighs 19lbs (as of October 26th)
  • Pulls herself up on things (October 19th for the first time)
  • Claps and points at objects
  • Crawls with her belly off of the ground (Finally!  Her shirts were beginning to get ruined from dragging on my dirty floor all day.)
  • Says Mama, Dada, and loves to say "hi"
  • Has four teeth
  • Is still battling ear infections, one after another
  • Still takes two naps and sleeps through the night (she might be my favorite, for that reason alone!)

Trying to slyly get the sticker off of her shirt.

Still trying but smiling pretty.

I love this grin.  A good shot of her teeth, too.

I was a little late on taking pictures so we were packing for Thanksgiving at the same time.  Doesn't she just look like trouble?!

November Play Time

This blog has been keeping me up at night.  Once I'm so far behind, it just completely overwhelms me to think about catching up but here goes nothing.  I'll start with an easy one, just some photos of us playing back in November.

Reading to the girls.  Margo is showing more interest in sitting for a book.  Paige always loves them!

Not sure where Paige came up with her frog/cheerleader combination but it sure is pretty cute!

Paige and Margo in their matching pig pj's.  Don't you just want to snuggle with them?!

Margo has learned to pull herself up on things.  She did it for the first time Oct. 19th but took a few weeks to master the skill.

Drinking (or spilling) her sister's water.

Look at how proud she is of herself!  It's officially impossible to keep fingerprints off of that coffee table.

Margo helping herself to some snacks in the pantry.

Margo cooking, with a little boost from the "dishwasher" door.

Paige and her friend, Evelyn.  They've been having weekly Friday play dates since Evelyn lives across the street.  On this day, they were dressed to go to the beach.  They might be a little overdressed.

Paige was the special person at school in November.  We made a poster board describing all the special characteristics about her.  She included pictures of her family, what she likes to do, places she's been, etc.  She was so proud!
