Paige's First Trip to the Dentist

Earlier this month, I took Paige to her first dentist appointment.  I was a little worried that she might not cooperate and be a little scared of the whole thing.  Luckily, there happened to be a Bubble Guppies episode on the week prior that focused on going to the dentist and keeping your teeth and smile bright.  Perfect timing!

I don't know if it was the Bubble Guppies show, Tom and Jerry playing on the ceiling above the chair, or the coincidence of having another "Paige"in the waiting room but our Paige did absolutely wonderful.  She hopped right up in the chair and opened her mouth like she was an old pro.  It probably didn't hurt that they gave her a pair of princess sunglasses to wear so that the water didn't get in her eye.  She collected her stickers and toothbrush for a job well done but didn't want to leave!  I don't think we'll have any problems getting her back there in six months.

Enjoying the toys in the waiting room.

Showing off her sparkly new smile.  We went directly to Target to find similar princess sunglasses.

Getting in a few more minutes of play while I paid the bill.

Margo is 5 Months Old!

Margo turned five months old on May 13th.  We don't have another doctor appointment until June so I don't have a weight or measurement but she's definitely growing and developing.  One of the biggest changes from last month is her ability to roll.  She's rolling both directions and doing it often!  Margo has also found her voice and we just love hearing her talk.  As for sleep, she has started to get on a little bit of a nap schedule, which makes planning our day a little easier.  She's also sleeping through the night most of the time but will still occasionally get up for one feeding.

Margo is just a sweet, happy baby and we are having so much fun with her!

Here are more pictures from the month...

Just for comparison's sake, Paige at five months.

Look Mom, I found my tongue!

Sweet, happy baby!

I found my feet too!

Margo is really starting to enjoy the exersaucer, which is good news for us.

Our Visit to the Bailey's

We were long overdue for a trip to visit our friends, the Bailey's, and had some airline vouchers that needed to be used so we decided to pack up and make the trip.  Ryan and Meridith had already planned on spending a long weekend at his parent's lake house in SC so we flew to Greenville where Meridith picked us up.  Our first full day was beautiful, although the water was still a little cool.  Little did we know, the rest of the weekend was going to be a wash out!  Despite not being able to fully enjoy the lake, we had a great time catching up and watching the girls do the same.  We were even able to get out for a date night, thanks to Ryan's parents and on Sunday, we celebrated Mother's Day with a delicious fondue dinner, courtesy of our loving husbands.

It was a wonderful weekend and we are so grateful for such great friends!

Our Visit to the Bailey's

Paige showing off the hotel room that we stayed in the night before we flew out of Tulsa.  She was so excited to stay there.  She especially loved the room service and bar soap.  Who knew?!

Ready for take off!  She loved being on the plane and did pretty well keeping herself entertained.

Margo's first flight.  She also did well and kept herself entertained by eating the majority of the time.

Bailey, Molly, McKenzie, and Margo snuggling.

Paige and Menzie loved feeding the ducks and the ducks enjoyed it too.

Playing hopscotch.

Going for a ride.  Paige and Menzie played so nicely together!

Even Drew got into hopscotch.

After our date night at a yummy Italian restaurant and an impromptu Clemson baseball game.

Group photo.  We went to great lengths to get the camera set at just the right height.

Paige and Menzie spent a lot of time playing on the iPad together.

A great Mother's Day with my two girls.

The Bailey's taking their guesses as to Baby Iten's gender.  One boy vote, three for girl.

Our guesses.  Two votes for boy, two votes for girl.

We were so sad to have to leave.  And of course, just as we were leaving the sun came back out!

Iten Baby #3 Shower

On May 6th, I helped a few girls from the neighborhood host a baby shower for Jodee.  Since Baby Iten's gender is a surprise, we wanted to get everyone's guesses on boy vs. girl as well as decorate some onesies for Baby I. to wear after he/she arrives.  I was very impressed by the creativity in the room!  We're looking forward to meeting the baby very soon!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

A few weeks ago, we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and attend an evening NWA Naturals game with the girls.  It happened to be Scout night so the only tickets we were able to get were in the grass, which worked out well for us.  Paige had a great time eating nachos, cotton candy, and topping it off with ice cream later.  It's a wonder she wasn't awake all night!  We all enjoyed the fireworks at the end of the game too.  Here are a couple of quick photos at the night.

Drew's 36th Birthday

Drew celebrated his 36th (!) birthday on April 19th.  For the third year in a row, he was out of town on business on his actual birthday, this time in Las Vegas.  I'm starting to wonder if he purposefully plans trips out of town so that he can live it up without us.

After he returned the next day, we celebrated at home.  Paige and I had fun decorating for Daddy with balloons and a banner.  Paige tried so hard to blow up the balloons but they usually just ended up being slobbered on before she handed them to me to complete the task.  Doug and Cole joined us for homemade lasagna and a malt ice cream cake I found on Pinterest.  It was delicious, if I do say so myself!  Here are a few photos from the evening.

Happy Birthday Drew!

Paige is 3 and a HALF!

On April 3rd, Paige celebrated her half birthday.  I catch myself wondering some days when she got to be so big.  I just can't get over how quickly time flies with her around.  She's one smart little cookie, which can sometimes be bad news for us.  Three has been definitely more difficult than two just because she's constantly testing her limits and exerting her independence.

Paige is still very much a Daddy's girl.  She's his biggest fan and the feeling is mutual.  Another thing that hasn't changed are her sleep habits.  She still fights sleep and often wakes up during the night.  At this point, we're pretty much over it and it's just a part of who she is.

Paige's imagination is at an all time high right now.  She loves to pretend she's a doctor, school teacher, gymnastics coach, dentist, and mommy.  She insists on switching roles with me so that she can be the mommy while I'm the "Paigey" and then instructs me to take a nap.  What a wonderful little game!

I'm so proud of what a sweet, caring little girl she's become.  We are so lucky to have her!

Funny girl.

Here she was on her 3rd birthday, six months ago.

Watering the flowers.

It's raining!  Apparently, just not pants.

Paige had gift cards and money that her grandparents had given her for Easter so we went to Target and she picked this princess scooter.  She was so proud!
